EO/GMES

EO/GMES WG aims to identify and promote regional priorities within the European GMES initiative; GMES provides observation data from Earth Observation satellites and ground based facilities; there is a specific focus on end user needs. Three sub-groups have been created for:

- Land Applications ( contact: Paola Carrara)

- Maritime Oceanography (contact: Alain Podaire, Midi/P)

- Security and Hazard Response

25 Uses of GMES in the NEREUS regions: the Editorial Group have put together a plan to produce a promotional publication on GMES actions in the regions. This will help create a wider understanding of the scope of activity in GMES already underway at European, national, regional and local levels. More about this project...

Up-coming FP7-4th Space Call: will cover around 100 MEUR of which 60% for GMES, 30% for SSF (Strengthening Space Foundations) and 10% for INCO. The funding of GMES activities will focus on continuity of GMES core service (fast- track services from Call 1 will finish end 2011), land + emergency will be addressed under GMES regulation. With two large scale projects the coming call will definitely address marine and atmosphere topics. The call and its accompanying documents will be published on 20 July 2010 (deadline on 25 November) on the CORDIS-Website:
