CASTILLA Y LEON

The vast experience gained from the automotive sector provided a solid base for the local companies to develop, in cooperation with new foreign counterparts, the aeronautical industry. To meet the growing demand of the aerospace market for composite materials, many of these companies made strong decisions to invest in research, development and innovation of complex new components and their technological applications to the aeronautical industry.

The extensive field of possibilities Castilla y Leon bids to the aeronautical sector is reflected by the wide spectrum of research and development lines and applications of new aerospace structures, composite materials, air traffic control systems and flight systems, among others, offered by the Region.

Moreover, Castilla y Leon has positioned itself as one of the most relevant Spanish aerospace regions, with its many initiatives in engineering and satellite mission analysis, development of land segment systems, teledetection, simulation and development of space technologies applied to location and positioning systems, satellite navigation and telecommunications.
