MOLISE

The Molise Region strongly believes that Space Technologies will be the engine for the expansion and empowerment of the regional and national productive system. Many initiatives have been put into place in order to reach a good position in this domain. One of the most significant is “Spazio Molise” in the field of space, security, environment and civil protection.

The Molise Region adopted the satellite technology of earth observation for two important systems designed for use by citizens and all local agencies and municipalities: SIIT (Integrated Geographical Information Services); SVA (System of Environmental Surveillance) for the monitoring of situations of environmental and human risks. Greater integration of satellite technologies is expected for both systems.

The Molise Region on the basis of an agreement with the University of Molise, ASI (Italian Space Agency) and Telespazio S.p.A is creating   “Geodatabase”. It is the first Cluster in a network of European centers related to production and distribution to Public Administrations and Citizens of geo-spatial services and data. Related products will be proposed to international markets. Therefore the center will be constantly upgraded and targeted to the needs of various categories of users, mainly in the advanced domains of Earth Observation, ICT and Satellite Navigation.

The University of Molise, in cooperation with the Molise Region, Province of Campobasso and Province of Isernia, is offering a postgraduate MA course, “Giacomo Sedati” in the Management of EU-Funded Projects.

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge required to understand and exploit the European funding framework, and also with the technical skills associated with funding applications, tendering and creating project reports.
