Copernicus Hackathon on 19 & 20 September 2019, Leicester, UK- Submissions deadline 21 July 2019


A Copernicus Hackathon is coming to UK for the very first time, hosted in Leicester on 19 and 20 September 2019 to work on the theme of Food Security and its Resilience within a Changing Climate is a United Nations sustainable development goal (https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org).

 

The direct benefit of participation will be the development and commercialisation of new products and services through either the creation of new business entities or collaborative projects/partnerships with the university.  The indirect benefit will be solutions identified in support of a common goal of food and water security, community cohesiveness and greater awareness of critical societal issues and challenges.

 

The winning teams, thanks to generous sponsorship, will receive free access to the Copernicus Accelerator programme, incubation space in the Leicester Innovation Hub incubator for six months, access to a virtual machine on Sobloo platform and a cash contribution to further progress/launch the idea.

 

If you are keen to take part in this event, you will need to:

  2. Submit a short application outlining the idea/ project you want to develop over the two days here. Submissions are welcome until 21 July 2019. Please find attached a few tips and hints when filling the form.
