A United EU SPACE for a more resilient, sustainable and fair Europe: A joint letter

During this critical period, Europe’s space programs and activities are more than ever at the forefront of economic innovation and societal transformation in many fields, for making the difference to people’s every-day life. Europe’s space community is unique and takes every effort to make these changes happen.

Space is a fundamental horizontal tool for all European policy priorities such as Green Deal and the digital economy and indispensable for modernizing public policies and services at all levels.

With this signed letter, NEREUS teams up with the European Space Agency (ESA) and other major stakeholders of the EU Space Programmes (The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the European Environment Agency (EEA), the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), Mercator OCEAN, The European Centre for Medium- Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), Eurospace, The European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC)) to call on the European Commission and the Council of the EU to consider the EU Space Programme as an integral part of the roadmap to recovery that must be properly financed, as proposed by the European Parliament.
