Use of AI, big data and space technologies in territorial management on 23 February 2021


The STOA Panel of the European Parliament organised a workshop on the topic of artificial intelligence, data science and space technologies in territorial management on 23 February at 16h chaired by Ms Maria Manuel Leitão Marques, Member of the European Parliament from Portugal.

 

Ms Roya Ayazi, NEREUS Secretary General, represented the Network on this occasion. Ms Ayazi emphasized that the use of EO/Copernicus is a fundamental instrument for the green and climate transition and our Network supports this position through its flagship project, Copernicus4regions which shows how Copernicus stands for a cleaner, safer and fairer environment.

 

The aim of the event was to present projects that use artificial intelligence, big data and space technologies in territorial management in order to anticipate which benefits these technologies can have and how they can enhance the experience of citizens, companies and public administration entities.
