At this year’s EXPANDEO 2025, Margarita Chrysaki, on behalf of NEREUS, led a panel of esteemed experts to explore how Earth Observation (EO)-based services can support local and regional authorities in addressing the growing challenges of climate change adaptation.
A highlight of the session was the presentation by Carlo Masetto, Chair of the NEREUS Earth Observation Working Group, representing Regione Veneto—one of Europe’s most advanced regions in the use of space technologies. He showcased how Veneto is applying EO solutions to meet regional needs and foster climate resilience.
The session drew on experiences from two EU-funded initiatives—OCEANIDS and VALORADA—to illustrate how EO can provide concrete solutions in both coastal and inland settings. Speakers shared user perspectives and regional use cases, fostering a meaningful exchange between EO experts and public authorities.
