NEREUS organised on the 19 June 2025, 11.00-12.30 (Brussels time), the 18th infosession on education/training in the space sector focused on the benefits of the Erasmus+ EU project Universeh for students and young professionals.
Professor Emmanuel Zenou (ISAE – SUPAERO – Head of International PEGASUS Network – Chairman Université de Toulouse – UNIVERSEH Coordinator) was the keynote speaker. He presented UNIVERSEH, a European University Alliance aiming to become the leading academic hub for a changing space sector. He highlighted its innovative, multilingual, inclusive, and research-based approach to education, designed to foster excellence and cross-disciplinary skills.
Professor Zenou emphasized the project’s added value compared to other Erasmus+ initiatives, particularly through its long-term focus on space education and strong collaboration between universities. UNIVERSEH also plays a key role in strengthening regional innovation ecosystems by aligning education with local economic needs and supporting talent retention.
He concluded by addressing key barriers to greater involvement of Europe’s skilled workforce in the space sector, including limited awareness, mobility challenges, and the need for broader inclusion of diverse backgrounds.
