NEREUS organises Session II: Info session on the proposed EU Space Package ( EU Space Act and Vision for a European Space Economy), as part of its series of online events on the proposed EU Space Package. The info session will take place on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, 10.00 – 11.30h.

A distinguished panel of high-level speakers will contribute to the discussion, bringing perspectives from European institutions and leading regional stakeholders.
From the European Parliament, Elena Donazzan, Member of the European Parliament and rapporteur on behalf of the ITRE Committee, will present her statement and viewpoint, followed by an interactive exchange with participants.
Institutional perspectives will also be shared by the European Committee of the Regions, with Nadia Pellefigue, Vice-President of Occitanie and rapporteur of the Committee’s opinion, and by the European Economic and Social Committee, represented by Angelo Pagliara, rapporteur of the EESC opinion.
The programme will conclude with reactions and views from the stakeholder community, featuring Michele Peterle, Aerospace Business Unit Director at AIR – Aerospace Innovation and Research in Veneto, offering an industry-driven regional perspective.
Objectives:
- Present the views of the co-legislators (the European Parliament and the Council) and of the Committee of the Regions to gain a clearer understanding of the current state of play in the negotiations. What are political priorities? On which items are controversial views?
- Better understand the scope and objectives of the EU Space Act, and how it will impact different stakeholders along the value chain and public authorities.
- Stimulate interaction and exchange of European stakeholders from relevant domains to exchange on their different viewpoints and perspectives.
