NEREUS is pleased to share that Brittany (member region), will host the workshop “Space for Maritime: From Territorial Strategy to Action” during Sea Tech Week® 2026, one of Europe’s leading international events dedicated to maritime innovation.
As coastal regions face growing environmental, climate and economic challenges, space technologies are playing an increasingly important role in supporting coastal management, maritime activities and evidence-based decision-making. Building on its strong maritime ecosystem, Brittany is developing a dynamic “Space for Maritime” sector that connects Earth Observation, innovation and public services.
A key example of this ambition is Cosmeo, a France 2030 programme supported by CNES, which transforms Earth Observation data into operational coastal intelligence services. By combining satellite-derived information with decision-support tools, Cosmeo demonstrates how space technologies can support coastal management while improving user uptake and operational deployment.
The workshop will bring together representatives from public authorities, industry, research organisations and the space sector to exchange experiences and identify opportunities for future collaboration. Discussions will also explore cooperation with other European coastal regions, including Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Greece and Croatia, fostering knowledge exchange and joint initiatives around the blue economy and space-enabled maritime services.
Participants will have the opportunity to discuss best practices, innovation, skills development and the adoption of Earth Observation solutions for maritime applications, while strengthening partnerships across regional and European ecosystems.
For more than 25 years, Sea Tech Week® has been a flagship international event for maritime innovation, gathering around 1,000 participants from more than 15 countries through high-level conferences, workshops, exhibitions and networking opportunities.
