Regional Space Strategies

The recent development of regional space strategies since 2019 signifies a shift towards local autonomy and decision-making. Accompanied by the establishment of new public administration departments and the growth of regional space communities, these trends are shaping the European space strategy on a broader scale. Aligned with national strategies, regional plans focus more specifically on innovation, economic growth and partnerships of the respective territory, addressing both regional and global priorities. In this respect, NEREUS supports these policy initiatives and organises internal meetings to advocate and bring regions together to learn from each other, in some cases serving as models to inspire others. Furthermore, NEREUS helps other regions and organisations to build their own strategies or integrate the use of data into their strategies.
