Other partnerships

NEREUS often organises workshops, events and joint initiatives together with other space associations. In this way, the Network manages to build an external framework of important partners contributing to its space initiatives:

ARC- Airport Regions Council

ARC is the association of regional and local authorities with an airport situated within or near their territories. ARC represents the interests of its members and brings together a wide range of expertise at the interface of airports and air transport with local and regional policies. A common concern is to maximise the benefits generated by airports and minimise their environmental impact in order to improve the life quality of citizens living nearby airports. Mr. Sergi Alegre Calero, ARC Director shared his viewpoints in the following interview (link).

EARSC- European Association of Remote Sensing Companies

The EARSC is the European organization which – on a non-profit basis – coordinates and promotes activities of their members in the area of services based on the delivery of geo-information products on customer demand. The members of EARSC are active on the growing market for the exploitation of EO data by converting these data in geo-information suitable and accessible for their clients. NEREUS and EARSC are partners in many EU projects and joint initiatives.

ESOA- European Satellite Operators Associations

ESOA is a non-profit European organisation established with the objective of serving and promoting the common interests of European satellite operators. The Association is the reference point for the European satellite operators industry and today represents the interests of 10 satellite operators who deliver information communication services across the globe. NEREUS and ESOA entertain a close collaboration.

EURISY

EURISY is a non-profit association created in 1989 with the aim of promoting the benefits of space for European society. Eurisy’s membership includes space agencies, international organisations, research institutions, private businesses and others involved in space-related activities or, more generally, in scientific and technological activities. Eurisy raises awareness of emerging satellite applications which can help professional communities in many sectors of application. In the past, NEREUS and Eurisy organised jointly space events focused on user domains such as cultural heritage.

ESPI- The European Space Policy Institute

ESPI provides decision-makers with an informed view on mid- to long-term issues relevant to Europe’s space activities. In this context, ESPI acts as an independent platform for developing positions and strategies. NEREUS exchanges and liaises regularly with ESPI and is glad to welcome ESPI-experts as invited speakers to its events.

ERRIN- European Regions Research and Innovation Network

ERRIN is a dynamic network of currently more than 90 European regions and their Brussels-based EU offices. ERRIN facilitates knowledge exchange, joint action and project partnerships between its members with the aim to strengthen their region’s research and innovation capacities. It also aspires to influence EU policies in order to make them respond better to the needs of European regions and to that end engages in debate with EU institutions. NEREUS liaises and exchanges with the network.
