NEREUS organised the webinar: EU Space Act and Vision for a European Space Economy – Programme and Open Calls, as part of its series of online events (Read here the follow-up of the previous session, The draft of an EU Space Act 15 September 2025 (link)) on the proposed EU Space Package on Friday, 10 October 2025, from 09:30 to 11:00h. The session welcomed more than 150 participants.
The session provided an overview of the European Commission’s proposal, highlighting its key objectives, timing, and expected impact for Europe. DG DEFIS representatives: Zuzana Mazanova (Space Single Market), Giancarlo Granero (Space Economy), and Maria Fernandez Molinero (Space Policy) presented the initiative, followed by a Q&A session. Stakeholders from the space community including NEREUS regions (Albert Royo, DETA Secretariat, Catalonia), ESA, EUROSPACE (Olivier Lemaitre), EARSC, and law firm Heuking (Andreas Lenz) shared their perspectives, highlighting opportunities and key considerations for regional engagement within the broader European space ecosystem. Gisela Suess, Head of ESA’s Legal Services Department, also delivered a brief five-minute intervention.
