Follow-up EO4GEO Virtual Workshops: Shaping the future workforce of Earth observation*Geo-information sector in Poland


The Network organised together with the regions of Podkarpackie and Mazovia (PL) the virtual workshops on “Shaping the future workforce of Earth observation*Geo-information sector in Poland: EO*GI Skills needed & EO4GEO solutions” on 21st&22nd October. The objective of the workshop was to identify the current and future needs of EO/GI skills in the business and education activities in Poland and explore how the EO4GEOs solution can fit into the needs of LRAs, academia, companies, and other key stakeholders in Poland.

 

Ms Anna Huk, Member of the Board of the Podkarpackie Region and Mr. Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship addressed the workshops and introduced the region’s space activities for Podkarpackie and Mazovia respectively.

More than 120 registered participants for each online workshop had the chance to follow the discussion and interact with high-level speakers and the EO4GEO Alliance. The workshops were moderated by Ms Margarita Chrysaki, NEREUS Communication/Project officer.

 

In the first part of the workshops, key stakeholders from Academia, LRAs, Industry, and the Polish Space Agency gave an overview on the current and future working skills needed for the Earth Observation/Geo-Information activities at a regional and national level (you can download all presentations below).

 

In the second part of the workshop, the EO4GEO Alliance presented the EO4GEO tools, training actions, and training material that could support Public Authorities, academia, companies, and small and medium enterprises, and EO/GI experts in their day-to-day working processes. Further, the partners organised on the 2nd day a hands-on session to explain how we can use and benefit from these solutions for professors and students (download their presentation below).
